Our Timber Transitions Hut Experience!
We have recently built a bark hut with Timber Transitions and want to share our wonderful experience with everyone!
We met Neil Frost initially at the Brookfield Show where he had a Bark Hut on display. We loved the look of the hut, thinking it would be a great extra space for the children as they grow.
We followed up by visiting Neil and his team at their mill where Neil took all the time we needed to explain costings, options and ideas that we had. He followed up quickly with a comprehensive quote and costings have never been an issue – what Neil says is what you pay!
We asked Neil to hold off on building until we were back from an overseas trip and he promptly commenced once we returned, with the hut being built and delivered in just over a month!
Neil encouraged us to visit daily or more whenever possible, so we could check on progress and resolve any building queries either party may have had. We had many new ideas along the way and Neil went over and above to accommodate our requests (eg installing timber framed flyscreens – these are simply stunning!)
The quality of workmanship is second to none and we have had the most positive and exciting experience building our bark hut with Neil from Timber Transitions. We wholeheartedly recommend Neil’s bark huts and would be happy to talk to any prospective purchasers about our hut experience!
We have already had many happy sleep outs in the hut and sundowners on the verandah and look forward to many more!

Neil Frost's slab huts represent a beacon of traditional craftsmanship in an ocean of building industry mediocrity.
The concept is brilliant, the design is timeless: simple, rustic, strong.
Neil has obviously put a lot of thought into the details and the result is so good to look at - we often just sit and stare at it.
Ours is a difficult site - rocky and sloping. Neil was never deterred and, with a great team, tackled each obstacle with lots of good humour.
He and Lesley are a pleasure to work with - nothing seems to be too much trouble.
